TFP Nutrition expanded their voluntary recall to include all dry dog foods, dry cat foods and catfish feed formulas manufactured in their Nacogdoches, Texas, USA facility. The recall of these production codes is being conducted due to the potential for Salmonella contamination. The pet food and aquaculture feed recall includes more than 50 products. This recall was established in October but has been now expanded after independent testing has once again found Salmonella in product at retail locations in several states including Arkansas, Arizona, California, Louisiana, Mississippi, New Mexico, Nevada, Oklahoma, Texas and Utah.
TFP Nutrition is working directly with retailers to remove the impacted product from the supply chain. Consumers who have purchased any of the formulas should immediately stop feeding the affected products to your pets and dispose of any product and packaging. TFP Nutrition apologizes for any potential issues this may have caused pet owners and their pets.
The question that comes to mind immediately is…How did TPF nutrition get to this point with a Salmonella issue? Manufacturing at fast speeds at the highest temperatures possible for maximum profit one would assume. Larger manufacturers that are fixated on profits over quality often find themselves in this common situation. We are very proud to say to consumers that Canine Health Forward’s products to date are manufactured in a “Recall Free” facility. Those are very serious words these days. A facility that takes the time to thoroughly slow cook our formulas for maximum starch conversion and food safety without compromising the quality of the ingredients. Pair that with not only in house, but multiple independent test requirements before product is released to the public equals a dog food product that your family pet can count on for a lifetime.
